Part I – Preliminary provisions (ss. 1-3)
1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Tanzania Telecommunications Company Incorporation Act.2. Application
Upon attainment of privatisation of the Company and the Government shareholder, whichever is the earliest event, the provisions of this Act, other than the provisions of sections 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, shall cease to apply.[s. 1A]3. Interpretation
In this Act, unless the context requires otherwise—"assets" includes all property movable or immovable and all estates, easements and rights whether equitable or legal in, to or out of property, choses-in-action, money and goodwill;"Company" means the Tanzania Telecommunications Company Limited which is required by this Act to be established;"former Corporation" means the Tanzania Posts and Telecommunications Corporation established by the Tanzania Posts and Telecommunications Corporation Act1;"liabilities" means liabilities, debts, charges, duties and obligations of every description (whether present or future, actual or contingent, and whether payable, to be observed or performed in the United Republic or elsewhere);"Minister" means the Minister responsible for telecommunications;"rights" means all rights, powers, privileges and immunities, whether actual, contingent or prospective;"vesting date" means the date on which assets and liabilities in respect of telecommunications services, to which the former corporation was entitled or subject to, are transferred to and vested in the Company.[s. 2]Part II – The Tanzania Telecommunications Company (ss. 4-8)
