1.

These Regulations may be cited as the Arms and Ammunition (Repair Establishments) Regulations.

2.

(1)A licence in respect of an establishment for the repair of arms, other than smooth-bore muzzle-loading arms, under section 21 of the Arms and Ammunition Act (in these Regulations referred to as a "Repair Establishment Licence") may be issued by the Superintendent of Police in charge of the province within which such establishment is situated and shall be in the form set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.
(2)The fee for such licence shall be twenty shillings.
(3)Such licence shall continue in force until suspended or revoked.

The following conditions shall apply in respect of a Repair Establishment Licence:
(a)the premises in which repairs of arms are executed shall be approved by the Superintendent of Police to whom application for the grant of such licence is made;
(b)during the continuance in force of a Repair Establishment Licence the licensee shall keep on the premises of his repair establishment a register of all arms accepted for repairs, which register must clearly show—
(i)number of entry;
(ii)date of receipt;
(iii)name of owner;
(iv)description of arms;
(v)maker's number;
(vi)number and date of arms licence;
(vii)date returned to owner;
(c)only licensed arms must be accepted for repairs;
(d)during the continuance in force of a Repair Establishment Licence any police officer not below the rank of sub-inspector shall have power to inspect the said premises, the arms in custody for repair and all records.

4.

If any of the conditions set out in regulation 3 are not complied with the Commissioner of Police shall have power to suspend or revoke a Repair Establishment Licence and shall report the fact to the Minister whose decision shall be final.
