1. Short title

These Rules may be cited as the Chattels Transfer Rules.

2. Attestation clause

Every person attesting the execution of an instrument or of a memorandum of satisfaction or of a transfer of an instrument shall sign an attestation clause in one of the forms contained in the First Schedule, whichever may be appropriate.

3. Forms to be used

The forms contained in the Second Schedule shall be used in all matters to which they refer.

4. Document to be written legibly in English on durable paper

Every affidavit, instrument, memorandum and transfer shall be clearly and legibly written, printed or typewritten in the English or Kiswahili languages on paper or parchment of durable quality measuring thirteen inches by eight inches and margins of one and a half inches along the top and binding edges of each sheet shall be left blank for use in the office of the Registrar.

5. Fees payable

(1)The fees set out in the third column of the Third Schedule shall be charged for the several matters set out opposite thereto in the second column of that Schedule.
(2)No fee shall be payable for any search or the issue of any copy required by any officer of the Government for official purposes.
