1.

This Notice may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Survey Fees) Notice.

2.

The fees prescribed on the schedule to this Notice shall be payable in respect of categorized vessels.

3.

The prescribed fees may be payable in US Dollars or its equivalent in Tanzania Shillings as per existing exchange rate.

Schedule

A. Annual Survey

I. All passenger vessels with capacity to carry up to 500 passengersFlat rate700.00
II. All passenger vessels with capacity to carry above 500 passengers—700.00 plus 0.5 USD per each extra passenger above 500
III. All vessels of 50 Gross Registered Tonnage (GRT) to 500 GRT excluding passenger vesselsFlat rate500.00
IV. All vessels with GRT above 500 excluding passenger vessels—500.00 USD plus 0.2 USD per each extra GRT above 500 GRT
V. All other vessels of below 50 GRT excluding passenger vesselsFlat rate300.00
This excludes surveyor's travel expenses which have to be borne by the vessel owner.

B. Intermediate Survey

C. Occasional Survey
