Remission of Remainder of Sentence of Imprisonment

[Made under Article 45(1)]
To: The Principal Commissioner of Prisons and to all to who these Presents shall come:WHEREAS in Criminal Case No. 48 of 2003 before the Resident Magistrates Court of Kigoma at Kigoma, one Ngwizumburundi S/O Pacifique was on 4th February, 2003 convicted of being unlawfully present in the United Republic of Tanzania contrary to section 31(1) of the Immigration Act, 1995 (No. 7 of 1995) and thereupon the said court sentenced him to a term of imprisonment for two years.AND WHEREREAS I am minded to grant a remission of the remainder of the said sentenced of imprisonment:NOW THEREFORE, I, Benjamin William Mkapa, President of the United Republic of Tanzania in exercise of the powers vested in me by Article 45(1) of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania, do hereby grant unto the said Ngwizumburundi S/O Pacifique a remission of the said sentence of imprisonment:AND THESE PRESENTS do authorize and command you the Principal Commissioner of Prisons to release the said Ngwizumburundi S/O Pacifique immediately upon receipt thereof:GIVEN under my hand and Public Seal this 14th day of February, 2003.
