Public Corporations (Declaration of Specified Public Corporation) Order, 2003

[Made under section 38(3)]
WHEREAS, in carrying out its functions pursuant to section 22(1)(a) of the Public Corporations Act, 1992, the Commission has recomme­nded to the Minister that certain public corporations should be declared to be specified public corporations; andWHEREAS, subsection (1) of section 38 of the said Act, empowers the Minister for Finance upon recommendation by the Commission, to declare a public corporation to be a specified public corporation to which the provisions of the said Act shall apply; and;WHEREAS, the Minister for Finance, by order under the Government Notice No. 330A of 1998 declared the public corporation specified in the schedule hereto to be specified public corporation;Now THEREFORE, I Basil Pesambili Mramba, Minister for Finance, in the exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 38(3) of the Public Corporations Act, 1992, having received recommendations from the Commission, do hereby make the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Public Corporations (Declaration of Specified Public Corporation) Order, 2003.

2.

The Public Corporation specified in First Schedule to this Order is with effect from the date of commencement of this Order despecified as a Public Corporation and the provisions of Public Corporations Act, 1992 shall no longer apply in respect to it.
