Part I – Preliminary provisions
1. Citation
These Regulations may be cited as the Tanzania Communications (Installation and Maintenance of Electronic Communications Equipment) Regulations, 2005.2. Application
These Regulations shall apply to contractors authorized to deal with installation and maintenance of electronic communications equipment.3. Interpretation
In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires—“Act” means the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority Act;[Act No. 12 of 2003]“Authority” means the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority established under section 4 of the Act;“contractor” means an entity responsible for installation and maintenance of electronic communications equipment.Part II – Installation and maintenance of electronic communications equipment

5. Categories of contractors
The electronic communications contractors shall be categorized in accordance with the classes of licences.6. Offence and penalty
Any person who contravenes the provisions of these Regulation commits an offence and on conviction shall be liable to a fine not less than the equivalent of Tanzania shillings of US$ 3000 three thousand and the Authority may further suspend or cancel any licence held by the licensee.7. Capacity of the contractor
The contractor shall—8. Permission inspect
An authorized officer of the Authority shall at all reasonable time enter any premises on which a Contractor or his Agent is installing an electronic communication system or equipment to inspect equipment or system installation and witness any associated tests.9. Appropriate fees
A licence to install and maintain electronic communication equipment of shall continue to be in force for twelve months and shall be renewed on payment of the appropriate fees.10. Withdrawal of licence
The Authority reserves the right to withdraw the licence if the standard set by the Authority installation and maintenance are not observed.11. Revocation of GN. No. 320 of 2001
The Installation and Maintenance of Telecommunication and Radio Communications Equipment Regulations, 2001 are hereby revoked.History of this document
