This Order may be cited as the Wildlife Conservation (Usangu Game Reserve) (Declaration) Order.

The area described in the Schedule to this Order is hereby declared to be the Usangu Game Reserve.

Situation and boundaries

Usangu Game Reserve is estimated to have an area of about 4,148 square kilometres.

Detailed description of Usangu Game Reserve

The boundary runs from JV 878 (at Kipembawe Hill) with 204° at a distance of 17.1 kilometres to JV 877 (on top of Bomani Hill). From JV 877 the boundary runs with 100° at a distance of 22.1 kilometres to JV 875 (on top of Kimunyangi Hill) where it diverts with 125° at a distance of 15.1 kilometres to JV873 (at the confluence of Mduara and Nyakatete River). From JV 873, the boundary runs with 93° at a distance of 17.5 kilometres to JV 868 there it diverts with 169° at a distance of 13.5 kilometres to JV 865. From JV 865 the boundary runs with 162° at a distance of 22.6 kilometres to JV 867 (at confluence of Konga River and Great Ruaha River), where it diverts with 206° at a distance of 6 kilometres to JV 863. From JV 863 the boundary runs with 75° at a distance of 12.2 kilometres to JV 862 (on the bank of Mwanjulwa River, 5 km northwards from Kapunga Village).From JV 862 the boundary runs with 83° at a distance of 15 kilometres through Malawi Swamps to JV 861 (at the bank of Mlungu River 5 km. From Nyota Village northwards). The boundary divert with 94° at a distance of 6.3 kilometres to JV 859 (Close to Ikoga Village). From JV 859 it runs with 336° at a distance of 3.9 kilometres to JV 858 where it diverts with 65° at a distance of 3.3 kilometres to JV 857. From JV 857 the boundary runs with 354° at a distance of 8.2 kilometres to JV 856. From JV 856 it runs with 19° at a distance of 4.2 kilometres to JV 855. It diverts with 74° at a distance of 2.5 kilometres to JV 854. From JV 854, boundary runs with 54° at a distance of 2.2 kilometres to JV 853. From JV 853 the boundary runs with 350° at a distance 14.4 kilometres to JV 852. From JV 852, the boundary diverts with 91° at a distance of 22 kilometres to JV 851 (on top of the hill near Muwanga River close to Nyamakuyu Village).From JV 851 the boundary runs with 33° at a distance of 15.9 kilometres to JV 847. From JV 847 the boundary runs with 355° at a distance of 6.5 kilometres to JV 846. From JV 846 the boundary runs along the river up to JV 848 (at the confluence with Great Ruaha River, where the boundary follows the Ruaha National Park boundary back to JV 878 where it started.
